Martin F. Zuck, Owner
Martin Zuck is the owner and founder of Zuck Farms Stables. He took over the farm from his father, Clark Zuck, in the early '70s and transformed it from a turkey farm operation into a successful horse boarding stable. During the busy days of Commodore Downs (anyone remember them?), and during the popularity of English riding and showing, Martin cared for and managed upwards of 50 horses on a daily basis. He also spent a great deal of time training and schooling horses, both for himself and for boarders. He's looking forward to having more time for fishing and hunting, but is still responsible for most of the barn and grounds maintenance.
Heidi S. Zuck, Manager
Having ridden and trained horses for as long as she can remember, Heidi enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge for horses with new students. She began teaching while she was in high school, and has ridden with most every instructor in our area at one time or another. Active on the board of directors for Erie Hunt and Saddle Club, she is always pursuing new ways for children to become involved in horse-related activities. She has a special fondness for the "littles," those under age 6. Building a foundation at an early age is very important, so that the student has multiple options for riding in the future; any discipline can be open to them. Fun and games are a large part of Heidi's curriculum, and you'll find colored cones, beany babies, and hula hoops all around the arena when she is teaching. However, safety is Zuck's number one priority at all times. Matching the appropriate pony and student, proper head wear and foot wear, and the ability to listen are all important factors in lessons.
